The holidays are in full swing as we rehearse and get ready for many performances in addition to our own on Dec. 8, 2024 at 3pm | Coppell Arts Center | get tickets HERE
We will also be performing in the Coppell Arts Center lobby for Coppell Theatre's
"A Christmas Carol" play. Why do we play in the lobby for all of their 9 shows? Great question! We do it to honor Wheelice "Pete" Wilson, Coppell's visionary and founder of Theatre Coppell. Pete was a force of nature, so creative, and so kind to our orchestra. Before he passed, Pete & our president, Vanessa Younts; had discussed CCO playing the lobby for their show - " It's A Wonderful Life". They both agreed that it would add that extra special magic of the holidays to this iconic piece of work. After Pete passed, Vanessa felt strongly about keeping this tradition going and since then, the CCO has offered several combo groups to play the lobby at Coppell Arts Center. Vanessa also has a tradition of her own in that she performs on flute with piano accompanist to honor Pete on the first and last show OR (Opening & Closing night).
Here's agreat show of the CCO prepping for the holiday concert season!
